Washington Company Issues Nationwide Recall of Frozen Veggies Due to Listeria Risk

Twin City Foods, a business based in Washington, has started a voluntary recall of a few frozen veggies items due to possible listeria contamination. 

Super Sweet corn and mixed veggies that were delivered and sold in different places around the country, including Kroger (the parent company of Fred Meyer) and Food Lion supermarkets, are included in this recall.

A bacterium called listeria can cause serious and, in rare circumstances, deadly infections, especially in susceptible groups like young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), common symptoms of listeriosis, the infection caused by listeria, include fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff necks, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.

It’s important to remember that, as of yet, there have been no known cases of human sickness associated with the ingestion of these items. However, Twin City Foods’ proactive recall illustrates its dedication to customer safety and public health.
