Larry Rudolph, a wealthy dentist, has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2016 murder of his wife, Bianca Rudolph, which took place during an African safari. The murder occurred in Zambia, and Larry Rudolph claimed it was an accident.
He was also convicted of mail fraud for cashing in nearly $5 million in insurance policies for his wife and starting a new life with his girlfriend, Lori Milliron. The judge imposed over $15 million in financial penalties against Rudolph and ordered him to pay restitution to insurance companies, pay fines, and forfeit properties and assets obtained through the insurance proceeds.
Bianca Rudolph’s brother, Vincent Finizio, vowed to move her remains to a location where Larry Rudolph would never find them. He expressed his belief that Rudolph would “die alone and unmourned” and that his future grandchildren would never know of his existence. Rudolph’s defense lawyers are hopeful for an appeal.

Prosecutors argued that Larry Rudolph murdered his wife to benefit financially and to live a lavish retirement with his girlfriend. Lori Milliron, Rudolph’s girlfriend, was also sentenced to prison as an accessory to the crime.
The judge considered financial penalties due to Rudolph’s fraudulent activities, including building properties and owning luxury cars using the insurance money. The judge’s decision was based on a combination of restitution, fines, and property forfeiture.
Larry Rudolph’s lawyers argued against a $10 million fine, stating it would harm his adult children’s inheritance from their late mother’s estate. The children have largely remained silent about the case.
Prosecutors alleged that Rudolph’s wealth was built on fraud, including purposefully causing damage to his thumb to claim disability insurance money and engaging in fraudulent dental practices.
The case was marked by an FBI investigation that spanned several years and involved international evidence collection and witness interviews. Despite Rudolph’s wealth and connections, he was brought to justice. The sentencing of Rudolph was seen as a reminder that the law will catch up with individuals regardless of their wealth or status.
