Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato Part Ways with Manager Scooter Braun

Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato’s decision to sever their professional ties with Scooter Braun, a prominent figure in the music industry, holds significance due to his well-known conflict with Taylor Swift concerning her ownership of master recordings. J Balvin, a notable Colombian reggaeton artist, has also recently chosen to part ways with Braun’s management.

Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, representatives for Justin Bieber have refuted claims that he is leaving Braun’s management. It’s worth noting that Braun continues to represent a roster of artists, including Carly Rae Jepsen, Quavo, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas, and Ava Max.

Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato’s decision to sever their professional ties with Scooter Braun, a prominent figure in the music industry, holds significance due to his well-known conflict with Taylor Swift concerning her ownership of master recordings.

Scooter Braun’s career trajectory began during his college days, where he started by organizing events and parties. Eventually, he established SB Projects, a management company that played a pivotal role in overseeing the careers of artists like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. Particularly notable is his role in managing Justin Bieber from an early age, offering unwavering support during times of personal challenges.

However, Braun’s most publicized feud emerged when he acquired Taylor Swift’s former record label, which included her master recordings. This sparked a conflict with Swift, who felt her artistic autonomy was compromised.

In response, Swift initiated a project to re-record her initial albums, thereby regaining control over her music and impacting the value of Braun’s investment in her original recordings. This endeavor proved to be commercially successful.

In 2023, Braun ascended to the position of CEO at Hybe America, the US branch of a South Korean entertainment conglomerate. Additionally, his personal life underwent changes as he filed for divorce from Yael Cohen in 2021. The couple, who share three children, decided to end their marriage.
