The defense minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, stated on Saturday that training for Ukrainian pilots to fly American F-16 fighter jets had begun but would likely take at least six months, if not longer. This statement came two days after a United States official stated that F-16s would be transferred to Ukraine once its pilots were trained.
According to Reznikov, engineers and technicians will also participate in the training.
It is yet unknown how long it will take to teach engineers and technicians, according to Reznikov, who stated in a television interview that six months of training is considered the minimum for pilots.

The coalition has also included Romania on its list of countries for training sessions.
