Confrontation Exposed: Heated Words Between PSG President and Kylian Mbappe Amid Reinstatement

In order to be reinstated to the first squad, Kylian Mbappe reportedly informed Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), that he would be the only president to not play him.

The Frenchman, who had refused to commit his future to the Ligue 1 winners, was exiled to a gang of undesirables. He notified his club that he would not be exercising the contract’s one-year option, which incensed the Parisians.

Since then, Mbappe has held discussions with PSG and has been reintegrated into the starting lineup. He has been chosen for today’s match against Toulouse by Luis Enrique.

Al-Khelaifi and the French forward have a brief chat, but it captures the tension that developed behind closed doors. L’Equipe quotes the president of Paris as saying to the striker:

“You will see! You won’t play! We won’t give in.”

The French captain missed the entirety of PSG’s preseason as rumors about his future spread. The 24-year-old was adamant about his intention to complete the final season of his contract before becoming a free agent in the summer of 2019.

In order to be reinstated to the first squad, Kylian Mbappe reportedly informed Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), that he would be the only president to not play him.

The Ligue 1 powerhouses’ 0-0 draw with Lorient in their season opener on August 12 also saw Kylian Mbappe sit out. After the end of the summer transfer window, it was anticipated that the player wouldn’t still be at Parc des Princes.

Mbappe’s return to the first squad, though, is the result of discussions between him and Paris’ top brass. He has rejoined his colleagues in training, and he might even start against Toulouse.

The PSG management was taken aback when Kylian Mbappe informed them in writing that he would not be committing his future to the team. There have also been rumors that the French player has a deal in place with Real Madrid to play for the La Liga’s dominant club.

Last season, Mbappe was the star player for the Ligue 1 champions, scoring 41 goals and dishing out 10 assists in 43 games across all competitions.

The Parisians had been hoping the forward would stay at the club longer, but for now, they appear to have reached a compromise.
