An accused California Man Faces Charges for the alleged drugging and Assault of Five Women

The authorities have accused Andrey “Cosmo” Nguyen, a 37-year-old man from California, of a series of heinous crimes involving the drugging and sexual assault of multiple women in various locations across Los Angeles and West Hollywood. The allegations against him are deeply disturbing and have resulted in a range of serious charges.

Nguyen faces a total of seventeen charges, which include seven counts of rape by the use of drugs, three counts of sexual penetration by anesthesia or a controlled substance, one count of forcible rape, one count of oral copulation by anesthesia or a controlled substance, one count of sale, transportation, or offer to sell a controlled substance, and one count of sexual battery.

These alleged crimes took place over a period of two years, from June 2021 to June 2023. The victims are reported to be young women between the ages of 18 and 21.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón expressed strong condemnation for the actions attributed to Nguyen, stating that the violence and trauma endured by the survivors are reprehensible and will not be tolerated. Gascón emphasized his commitment to preventing sexual assault, providing support for survivors, and holding perpetrators accountable.

Nguyen’s Plea and Bail Set Amid Ongoing Investigation

Nguyen was taken into custody on Wednesday and entered a plea of not guilty during an arraignment the following day. His bail was set at $1,230,000, and his next court appearance is scheduled for August 30th. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles Police Department are working together to conduct the inquiry.

Police believe there may be other victims out there who have not yet come forward. They are urging the public to provide any information that could help identify other potential victims. This appeal for cooperation underscores the gravity of the case and the collective effort required to ensure justice and safety for the community.
