Josh Hart, a guard with the New York Knicks, is close to signing a four-year, $81 million contract deal, his agent informed ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
According to reports, he will make $94 million in total until the 2027–28 season.
The 28-year-old is now training with Team USA in the Philippines for this month’s FIBA World Cup. According to Wojnarowski, he apparently became qualified to sign the agreement on Wednesday and will keep taking part after the terms are settled.
In 76 appearances for the Knicks last season, Hart averaged 9.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 32.3 minutes, starting 52 games.
In particular during a postseason in which the Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals before losing to the Miami Heat’s historic run, Hart’s rebounding proved essential for the team.
When the Los Angeles Lakers selected him with the 30th overall choice in 2017, his professional career officially began. He was involved in the trade that brought Anthony Davis to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019.

Knicks’ Addition of Josh Hart
Just before the 2022 deadline, New Orleans traded Hart to the Portland Trail Blazers. He was traded to the Knicks after averaging 9.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in his first full season with Portland.
After being removed from the court just moments before he was scheduled to join the Trail Blazers for a game against the Golden State Warriors, the news became public. His joining the Knicks marked a reconnection with Jalen Brunson, a former teammate at Villanova.
In June, Hart exercised his $12.9 million player option with the Knicks for the 2023–2024 season, allowing the franchise to sign Donte DiVincenzo to a new four-year contract with a mid-level exception and go over the cap. DiVincenzo is a previous Wildcat as well.
Mikal Bridges, a forward for the Brooklyn Nets, has joined Brunson and Hart on Team USA. In 2016 and 2018, the trio guided the Wildcats to two national titles.
