The discussions in Saudi Arabia between foreign leaders to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine were criticized by Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Monday. Moscow, unlike Kyiv, was not invited, thus the talks have “the tiniest added value,” according to Moscow.
Top government representatives from roughly 40 nations met for two days in Jeddah on Sunday in an effort to reach consensus on fundamental ideas for resolving the conflict, which has raged for more than 17 months.
But, the meeting was useless without Russia’s participation and without taking Moscow’s interests into account, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry. Moscow reiterated earlier statements that Russia is open to a diplomatic settlement that ends the war on its terms and is prepared to consider serious suggestions.
