Gruesome Discovery: Husband Arrested in Connection to Suitcase Murder

In a chilling and disturbing incident, William Lowe has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after the remains of his wife, Aydil Barbosa Fontes, were found in three suitcases in the Intracoastal Waterway in Florida.

The gruesome discovery was made on July 21 when a concerned citizen reported something unusual in the waterway to the authorities, leading them to the horrifying scene.

As the investigation unfolded, it pointed to Lowe as the prime suspect. Police obtained a search warrant and went to his residence, where they discovered blood spatter throughout the house, indicating a violent and brutal crime had taken place.

The presence of blood in various rooms, including the living room, dining room, and primary bathroom, raised alarming red flags.

Lowe’s Baffling Interrogation: Suspicious Claims

 

The evidence took an even more sinister turn when investigators found a chainsaw in Lowe’s storage unit with what appeared to be blood and human remains on it. The grisly details of the case suggested a shocking and heinous act had been committed.

During his interrogation by the police, Lowe offered a baffling explanation, claiming that his wife had been in Brazil for approximately three weeks. However, he had no knowledge of her travel details, the airline she used, or the last time they had spoken. His responses raised suspicions about his involvement in his wife’s disappearance.

Through dental records, the victim’s identity was confirmed to be Aydil Barbosa Fontes. Additionally, the medical examiner’s report revealed that she had died from a gunshot wound to the head, indicating a premeditated act of violence.

As a result of the compelling evidence against him, Lowe was charged not only with first-degree murder but also with abuse of a dead body. When he appeared in court, he was denied bond, reflecting the seriousness of the charges and the potential danger he posed.

Delray Beach Police Chief Russ Mager expressed gratitude to the community for their invaluable support in providing tips and information that ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect. The cooperation of the community played a crucial role in bringing justice to the victim and her family, though it cannot erase the horror of the crime committed.
